We  had a great time at The Great Alaskan Spotsman Show  in Anchorage this last April.  We got a chance to meet Chris Carlin, who designs and makes custom bamboo fly rods (see Far North Rodsmiths on our links page).  Chris has offered package rod/reel combos using Solitude reels for several years now and has been a great advocate for our product.  It was nice to finally meet him in person.    We also got a chance to meet Shane Hertzog, who has been using our reels for several years now and whose pictures can be found in the photo gallery.  Shane specializes in catching very large rainbows on the Kenai River. 

Last but not least we are very excited about our reels being used  by Raindbow Bend Lodges located on the Naknek River.  Tom Baumgartner operates this first class operation.  You can vistit his site found on the links page.

All in all it was a great show and as always it is a pleasure for us to meet anglers and get a chance to show our product.  Thank you to all that stopped by our booth.

Solitude Reels will be one of many fine industry oriented companies sponsoring The Steelhead One Fly competition.  The event will be held in October (21st-23rd) of this year on the famous Deschutes River in Oregon.  The competition/fund-raiser has been put together by Salmon & Steelhead Journal magazine and will include tons of prizes including a few reels from Solitude.  You can get more details by visiting the event site at www.steelheadonefly.com
